I'm going to begin by giving you amazing tips to give your hair some TLC this summer.
Today I'd like to talk about Rice Water! It's been said that Fermented Rice Water can be a great substitute for Shampoo, Providing great nutrition for your hair follicles.
During Quarantine I have allocated myself as Guinea Pig and decide to try it out.
Preparation:
I began by rinsing Glutinous rice with water, after rinsing a couple of times, saturate the rice in water and let sit for 15-20mins. Once done, strain the rice and let the water sit at room temperature for a day or two to ferment.
Let me tell you now, this is not a pleasant smell so it's best to add Essential Oils to avoid the potent smell.
Lavender, Rosemary, Chamomile, Thyme, GrapeFruit, and Tea Tree and all good example of oils you can use for this. They also have benefits too!
Reduces Hair Loss
Stimulate Hair Growth
Improves Split Ends
After testing this theory myself, I found it helped my dry ends alot and my hair seemed to be growing faster than usual. The only downside I found was the fact that the rice water was unable to remove any product build up, for example -Hairspray. So I'd avoid using too much product while trying this out 🙂
